Feel Good Friday

Thanks to "The Girl Next Door Grows Up" for Feel Good Friday

This week I've succeeded in doing a couple of things that are good for me, but difficult for me. Our 25th wedding anniversary is coming up this summer, and I really want to do something special, but I've been putting off planning it. Over the weekend, I called a friend who is a party planner and invited her over for dinner to discuss ideas. As the week progressed another opportunity arose for me. I called and made an appointment to talk with a minister about my background and how I can use it in service to God and others. Now typically, I plan one EXTRA thing at a time -- not this week! Both of these meetings fell on the same day! That may not seem like much to many of you, but for me it was huge.

Wednesday (D-DAY)I got up, made my plans, and mentally prepared (?) myself for the events to come. By the time the afternoon meeting (minister) came around, I had a sick headache, sick stomachache and the beginnings of a panic attack. I took assorted meds and powered on! The meeting went well, and I think I have found someone who may be able to help me find more ways to serve others.

On to step 2. The grocery store. I invited my partyplanning friend for dinner and I hadn't been to the grocery in nearly a week and a half! Thankfully, my ever growing list was on my iPod, so I was able to make fairly short work of the shopping. Got home, chatted w/dd about the meeting and started cooking. Held the family off from dinner until CCD arrived. Nice dinner conversation w/dh, dd and CCD. Then we shooed everyone out so the two of us could talk. I was very proud of myself for thinking before speaking and really describing what is important about the event. CCD asked really good questions! Some plans are afoot, and I feel like this could come together in a good way!

So kudos to me for tackling and succeeding! Now where did I put that list I made . . .
