dear ones

I've missed you all.

It's been over a week since I've had the time and inclination to visit this space. To write and share and visit and rest.

I didn't mean for it to happen. Circumstances got in the way and priorities became misaligned (or perhaps not).

At first it felt like a personal failure. Then perhaps it was choice. I wondered if I'd made too much of this space. No one would miss me if I were gone. I didn't really need to be spending time and energy here when there was housework to be done and decorations to be placed.

And then this morning I woke up and found Kate's prompt -- dear.

And all I could think was, "dear ones". That's all of you! My friends on the screen. My friends even though we've never met. My support staff in so many ways.

So I've missed you, dear ones. And clearly you missed me, and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  2. Welcome back. The first post back after an absence should always be a 5MF post - it makes it so much easier that way.

  3. Don't beat yourself up. I'm glad you are back though. That is so sweet how you were able to see that prompt and be encouraged through it.

  4. Never doubt your value to the community of faith, Melanie! We all have our unique place and no one else can fill it. We all have our unique voice and no one else can say what God wants us to say.

  6. Ah yes... Sometimes a break is really what is needed... I'm glad you found grace to take it... and a pull to come back! And a Five Minute Friday post is a great way to get back into the rhythm of writing!

  7. This community of writers has become so important to me. I work from home and am an empty-nester - my hubs still goes out to work each day - the days can be lonnnng. Write 31 Days introduced me to so many of YOU, DEAR ones and for that I am extremely thankful! Come back and stay....short breaks are needful but don't stay away too long - your chair looks lonely empty and all. xo

  10. There is something beautiful about on line community. I understand the need to step away. I've done it several times and each time I wondered if I would be welcomed back. Thankful I stopped by your beautiful community today. Blessings!
