A friend recommended this and I can't get enough of it! I just love the lyrical prose, and the ideas of simplicity and sacrament are near and dear to my heart.
I've always been a fan of Flannery O'Connor, but only recently ran across this little book. Just started it this morning, but I'm looking forward to it immensely.
I'm not sure where I found this title, and it's not going where I expected, but it's quite good. An interesting tale of adventure, reconnection, and compassion.
Vacation planning!
Dh is reading this one for his internship and I'm reading along. Part marriage therapy, part professional interest. Mixed feelings on this one.
So what's on your reading list right now?
Just finished WITHOUT REGRET by Elaine Mingus (on her book launch team). I always have a Brennan Manning book at the ready. And, getting ready to read THE HOUSE GIRL by Tara Conklin.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your suggestions and input. I think I'd like to check out the marriage book.
ReplyDeleteSusan Shipe...I am so embarrassed...I offered to read Elaine's book - it is still on my e-mail; and I started reading it, but have NOT finished it...I need to get back to it - not that I'm on any kind of a "team"!!
ReplyDeleteMelanie - you have quite a selection of books you are reading! Right now I am reading "The Witness" by Nora Roberts - I LOVE a good mystery, suspense novel!! I usually only read one book at a time, unless it's a poetry/prose, or short story book, or some type of devotion or easy to lay down and pick back up a few days or week later!
Thanks for sharing!
Wow! What a great list! I finished Lets All Be Brave by Annie F. Downs and Lonewolf by Jodi Picoult. At the moment I am reading and LOVING Ann Voskamp's 1000 gifts. I LOVED Annie's book too!!!
ReplyDeleteOh. I have some new things to add to my list now! I am reading Pray, Write, Grow, a random mindless fiction book someone left at my house, and Hope for the Weary Mom. I want that first book.
ReplyDeleteI am currently reading, "The Best Yes" by Lysa Terkhurst I am enjoying it, learning its ok to say no and to prioritize my time. I also just finished Take the Leap by Lara Casey Stepping out in Faith and letting go of fear. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your reading list. Right now I am reading Galatians by Philip Graham Ryken and A Lady in France by Jennie Goutet and am enjoying both of them.
