To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven
-- The Byrds
I look at where I am today, and I am reminded of the constant ebb and flow of life. I see changes everywhere.
Growth is painful, but necessary. If I'd known then what I know now
. . . a useless endeavor.
So I'm turning in the direction of my dreams. Dreams too long put on hold. Scared and excited at the same time to be stepping out to take my turn.
As we act in the direction of our dreams,
we are given strength and courage.

I love the idea of turning in the direction of your dreams :) Too often we focus on what we are turning away from when we should be focused on what we are turning toward!
ReplyDeleteThanks. For some reason The Byrds was the first thing to pop into my head and then I saw the Julia Cameron quote and felt it was sign :)
DeleteI agree that growth can be painful, but it's necessary. As our church is growing, we have to make changes that will be painful for some of us. I dislike it, but I know that, if it helps to grow the Kingdom, it's worth my own small sacrifice.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, "If I knew then..." isn't a road worth pursuing. The Lord has led us on our paths for a reason, using even our bad choices to bring us where He wants us to be.
Sorry about the above comment. Issues. Anyway, I am a fellow FMF girl but am coming over from the 5 for 5 thread. I love your play on the verb "turn" and the noun there at the end. And I love even more that you are taking your turn to dream. Such goodness here.
ReplyDeleteI thought about that song as I was writing my post for today too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quote to end with! Act in the direction of your dreams! Amen! This is the first Friday in a long time that I didn't do a Five Minute Friday post... (I wrapped up my 31Days series instead!) - but I will be back next week because I LOVE the challenge and the community! Great job!
ReplyDeleteMay you be blessed as you turn toward your dreams! Thank you for sharing your heart for this FMF (my first, today!).
ReplyDelete"Growth is painful but necessary." Such great truth. I'm discovering that so many of my difficulties in life are forming me into a better more loving person, but it sure does hurt sometimes.
