The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY . . . July 3, 2012

Outside my window . . . it is partly cloudy and humid. We are so hoping for rain today. We've had temps over 100 and no rain in what feels like forever! My plants are all crunchy.

I am thinking . . . about our weekend marriage seminar. There are many concepts that I want to give more thought to, but the overwhelming message seemed to be gratitude.

I am thankful . . . for all the positive feedback and support I got at the seminar. Following on the heels of some very difficult family discussions, it was a real blessing to be surrounded by such validation.

In the kitchen . . . lots of salads. It's just too hot to cook or eat.

I am wearing . . . a giant white t-shirt

I am creating . . . still working on afghans but it's hard to get motivated in this heat.

I am going . . . to the grocery store and the pool today.

I am wondering . . . if the heat is why I've been so tired lately.

I am reading . . . The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey (The Mysterious Benedict Society #2) by Trenton Lee Stewart

I am looking forward to . . . the James Taylor concert next week. Dh bought me tickets for my birthday back in March and the concert is next Thursday, so we're celebrating my birthday all over again.

I am hearing . . . nothing but the clicking of my computer keys, punctuated by the occasional sounds of the dogs begging to come back in the house.

Around the house . . . FlyLady is flying high, mostly thanks to dd. She has really embraced the system, which is lovely for me.

I am pondering . . . writing.

One of my favorite things . . . is good conversation. We had lots this past weekend. It fascinates me that we could talk so openly with people we only knew for 3 days!

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . 4th of July tomorrow -- no special plans. Then exercise, housework, and enjoying summer. And a little birthday planning for ds's birthday on Monday.

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing . . .
summertime breakfast
